DS012 -- Life of Sin EP

Hefty is back with a solo EP called 'Life of Sin' for the 12th release on the fast growing and crafty label Darker Sounds. Hefty has this EP about to be released toward the end of what has been a busy summer, with gigs in London, Berlin, and Tielt in Belgium.

The first track and title of the EP 'Life of Sin' is pounding from the start. You can definitely see the way the EP is going with a title / first track like that. This dark fast paced track does not mess about -- everything happens at the right time, and the breakdown and vocals fit perfectly and could seriously portray a situation where someone was trapped and as much as they try to escape they are sucked back into the dark hole...Dark as can be, the vocal sample is taken from an interview with a serial killer.

The second track 'Incubus' is less about the breakdowns and more about the flow throughout the track. Its full of screams, creepy laughs and echoes which truly add the darkness to it.

Third we have 'Succubus'. From the start you can tell is quite different to the other two -- more along the classic techno root with a thumping bass line..

Last but not least, 'Zealot' more or less describes itself as extreme.. it really says it all about Hefty's style hard hitting, bassy techno with a real variety .. no monotone, but a continuous and interesting selection of sounds, melodies and shrieks ;)
